Scientific Abstract Competition
CALL FOR SCIENTIFIC ABSTRACTS
The Hispanic Dental Association is calling for Scientific Abstracts for Poster Presentations at its 18th Annual Meeting at the Palmer House Hilton - Chicago, Illinois on Friday, October 29, 2010. A prize of $1000, sponsored by Dentsply International, will be awarded to the presenter of the best scientific poster as determined by a panel of judges. Poster judging will take place on Friday, October 29, 2010. Award presentation will take place at the Gala & Award Dinner on Saturday, October 30, 2010. A discounted meeting registration ($195.00) for Presenters will include all continuing education sessions, Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception, Breakfast and Lunch with Exhibitors. (Pre-Conference Symposium, Gala & Award Dinner, and Lunch & Learn are separate ticket purchases.)
Abstracts should be related to the oral health of the Hispanic population and/or the 5-point framework in the Surgeon Generals Report on Oral Health:
Access to health care as a leading health indicator
Build an effective health infrastructure that meets the oral health needs of all Americans, and integrates oral health effectively into overall health
Remove known barriers between people and oral health services
Use public-private partnerships to improve the oral health of those who still suffer disproportionately from oral diseases
The type, amount, and quality of health people receive.
In addition, other compelling and provocative issues related to Hispanic Oral Health can be submitted. Submitted abstracts should follow the IADR Abstracts Submission Format (see HDA website at http://www.hdassoc.org/site/epage/100993_351.htm for more information). Applicants should provide abstract via e-mail to Rita Brummett, HDA Associate Director, at rbrummett@hdassoc.org by Monday, August 16, 2010.
