FLORIDA - University of Florida College of Dentistry
The University of Florida College of Dentistry is seeking applications for five full-time clinical-track (non-tenure) positions to support the development of a new model of clinical education for our DMD students. The successful candidates will be expected to serve as clinical mentors for third and fourth year dental students as they provide comprehensive general dental care. Faculty will be appointed in the most appropriate department based on expertise and the needs of the college.
Responsibilities include clinical education of dental students, clinical administration, patient care, and scholarly activity. The opportunity for intramural practice one day per week is available.
Background and experience: Qualified candidates must have a DDS/DMD degree from a CODA-accredited dental school or equivalent. General dentistry, operative dentistry or prosthodontic clinical experience in private practice or academic settings and administrative experience preferred.

The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry is seeking an associate Professor/Professor (tenure-track/tenured) in the Department of Oral Biology. This senior clinical/translational researcher will establish their own clinical/translational program and research tem in addition to providing management and oversight of newly developing clinical research initiatives, including provision of leadership and guidance to faculty and staff with regards to establishment and expansion of the clinical/translational research portfolio within the School of Dentistry. These responsibilities will include creation of research teams of clinicians, biostatisticians, patient coordinators, basic and translational investigators and leadership in establishment of good clinical research practices and ensuring compliance with IRB and FDA policies.
UMKC School of Dentistry has embarked on an ambitious plan to place the school at the forefront of research and academic training activities in the biomedical sciences and has identified the following research areas as its primary foci; dental/craniofacial bioengineering and biomaterials, bone biology, and translational/clinical research. Dr. Michael J. Reed, Dean of the UMKC School of Dentistry, has determined that he Department of Oral Biology will become the focal point and resource within the dental school to fulfill the vision of achieving national and international recognition within these three research disciplines. In conjunction with this goal, UMKC Chancellor Dr. Guy Bailey has announced the establishment of a translational/clinical research institute at UMKKC and is actively pursuing $25M from outside donors to support the formation of the Institute. Oral Biology, position 00036651: The Department of Oral Biology is seeking an Assistant Professor (tenure track) specializing in tissue engineering and biomaterials with a specific interest in craniofacial tissues and their replacement. Two to three years beyond an earned PhD in Biomaterials/Bioengineering and other related fields is required along with an interest in hard and soft oral tissue regeneration.
Department of Restorative Dentistry/Prosthodontics, position 00036891: The department is responsible for pre-doctoral education, research, patient care, and service. NEW JERSEY - University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey
The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey is seeking applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Periodontology. The department has a dental school undergraduate teaching program as well as an outstanding three-year post-doctoral program that accepts a minimum of 6-8 students annually. The department is seeking an individual who has both clinical and research training.
The applicant must: 1) have successfully completed training in a recognized post-graduate program, 2) be Board-eligible or Board-certified in periodontology, 3) have shown significant and sustained ability to obtain research funding from NIH or NSF in the area of periodontology, 4) have demonstrated outstanding teaching and organizational skills and has the ability to manage graduate training, and 5) have good communication and interpersonal skills. We seek a statement from each applicant that outlines his or her vision of the future of periodontology and how departmental programs developed by the applicant will fit that vision on both the predental and post-doctoral level. That statement should also include the way in which programs developed in the department will fit into the direction of periodontology from a global perspective.
