Scholarship Programs
To encourage entry of Hispanics into oral health careers, the Foundation was created in 1995 and now administers four different scholarship funds. Each fund has its own unique purpose, and each has its own benefactor. Applications of 2008-2009 Programs available below.

Scholarship Opportunity for Dental and Hygiene Students!
GlaxoSmithKline has joined with the Hispanic Dental Association Foundation to offer a scholarship program for Hispanic U.S. students. Two dental students and two hygiene students will each receive $2,000 to support their academic training and community service requirements. Selected students will have displayed superior interest in and commitment to improving oral health care in the Hispanic community through teaching proper oral hygiene, and providing critical oral care to those in the community who may not have the resources to obtain oral care on a regular basis. Applicants may be at any stage of the undergraduate program, second through fourth years, as long as ONE FULL YEAR HAS BEEN COMPLETED. Colgate-Palmolive has joined with the Hispanic Dental Association Foundation to offer a scholarship program for Hispanic U.S. students entering or participating in a Masters in Dental Public Health Program. Supported by Colgate-Palmolive, the program awards scholarships to support Hispanic students enrolled in Post-Graduate Public Health Programs. Maximum award: $10,000. Procter & Gamble Oral Care has joined with the Hispanic Dental Association Foundation to offer a scholarship program for ENTRY LEVEL Hispanic U.S. students - ALL DENTAL PROFESSIONS (dental, hygiene, assistant, technician). Supported by Procter & Gamble, this program awards numerous scholarships in the amount of $1,000. Applicants, accepted into an accredited dental, dental hygiene, dental assisting or dental technician program, are judged on demonstration of scholastic achievement, community service, leadership skill, and commitment to improving oral health in the Hispanic community. Dr. Juan D. Villarreal has joined with the Hispanic Dental Association Foundation
to offer a scholarship program for UNDERGRADUATE, STATE OF TEXAS ONLY, DENTAL AND DENTAL HYGIENE students. Scholarships in amounts of $1,000 (dental) and $500 (hygiene), are open to Hispanic U.S. students who have been accepted into or are currently enrolled in an accredited dental school in the state of Texas.
