Dr. Carlos Escobar, DDS - Assistant Professor, Department of Comprehensive Dentistry, UT Health San Antonio Dr. Escobar earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2016 from the Evangelical University of El Salvador (UEES). Following graduation, he joined UEES as a part-time faculty member in the predoctoral surgery department, where he shared his knowledge with students while managing a private practice. After three years balancing both roles, Dr. Escobar was accepted into the prestigious Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at UT Health San Antonio, completing the rigorous 2-year program. Since 2022, Dr. Escobar has been a full-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at UT Health San Antonio. As the Director of Digital Innovation of UT Health, he has been instrumental in incorporating digital dentistry into the predoctoral curriculum, with a focus on digital scanning and 3D printing. In addition to his teaching and curriculum development work, Dr. Escobar dedicates one day a week to patient care in the faculty practice clinic, bringing his comprehensive dentistry expertise to his patients. His dedication to enhancing dental education and providing high-quality patient care makes him an invaluable member of the UT Health San Antonio faculty.
