Description

Nearly 20% of the US population identifies with a Latino community today. And that 20% — those 1 in 5 individuals — often face disparities and inequities that influence their oral health care, access, and equity.

On the eve of Hispanic Heritage Month, an expert panel will explore the current landscape of Hispanics' oral health and findings from a new white paper from the Hispanic Dental Association and CareQuest Institute. They'll also discuss the advancements that have been made in the last two decades, the critical role of oral health public practices, and the importance of integrating community voice into future discussions.

Learning Objectives

  • Explain the effects of public, national, and state policies on Hispanic populations living in the United States.
  • Discuss how trends and disparities in the oral health work force can influence the utilization of dental services by Hispanic individuals.
  • Recognize how disparities and inequities influence oral health access for Hispanic individuals.
